Program Description

The Master of Science (MS) in Medical Product Quality (MPQ) focuses on the systems and regulations required to ensure the quality of drugs, biologics, and medical devices. Students learn how to apply this knowledge to the field of medical product development and manufacturing. The degree is awarded upon completion of at least 32 units of course work. Course requirements include courses in quality assurance/control, and at least one course each in regulatory science, CMC, risk management, and statistics. Students gain both theoretical and practical knowledge of quality systems, audits, and compliance standards used in global biomedical manufacturing. A specific plan of study should be developed with graduate advisers before beginning the program.

Those who received a degree from an institution outside the United States will need to obtain a “Certification of Studies for USC” from the International Education Research Foundation (IERF).
