Program Description

Program Description:
The graduate program in Pharmaceutical Sciences provides education and research in the main disciplines of Pharmaceutical Sciences, including medicinal chemistry, pharmacology and pharmaceutics. The graduate program contains a research-based Ph.D. degree. Financial assistance is offered for students who wish to pursue a Ph.D. degree. Faculty research interests include all major areas of pharmaceutical sciences including drug design and synthesis, neuroscience, cancer, drug delivery, gene delivery, diabetes, antiinfective drug discovery, toxicology, biochemistry and pharmacology. Our Faculty are externally funded, leaders in their fields and outstanding educators. A description of individual Faculty Research interests is available online. The graduate program encompasses a curriculum which provides basic foundational coursework as well as specialized courses. Students are exposed to research in their first month in the program. Student teaching is not required.
