Program Description

The use of biomedical data, information, and knowledge to improve health care is transforming an in-demand industry by helping providers assess and treat patients more effectively. When applied to public health, informatics improves decision-making and the monitoring of diseases. As a result, health informatics has emerged as a meaningful and attractive career choice. At several online job sites, salaries for health informaticists average between $75,000 and $150,000. And the Bureau of Labor Statistics noted that the employment of operations research analysts is projected to increase 26% by 2028.

To help meet the need for professionals who lead and innovate in the delivery of health care, Drake University offers a master’s in health informatics and analytics online. The 30-credit health informatics and analytics degree program is delivered 100% online and taught by expert faculty members.

When you graduate with a master’s in health informatics, you’ll be prepared to:
* Design solutions to biomedical or health information problems.
* Describe the history, goals, methods, and current challenges of the major health science fields.
* Integrate and apply the theories, models, and tools from behavioral, business, social, and information sciences.
* Apply disciplinary models to address social and behavioral problems.
* Demonstrate consideration and respect for the role of users in the design and application of information systems.
