Program Description | The Master of Science in Health Outcomes and Pharmacoeconomics program at the University of Cincinnati Online prepares students for careers in health care research, administration, medical affairs, and market access in public and private health systems, the pharmaceutical or medical device industries, health insurance companies, government, and academia. Health outcomes research generates evidence to improve patient care delivery, as well as decision-making in regard to policy discussions for health care reimbursements and priorities. Students will take courses covering topics including biostatistics, pharmacoepidemiology, Comparative effectiveness research, cost-effectiveness analysis, and decision analytical modeling. Students will also complete a non-thesis capstone project that ties together curricular outcomes from the entire program. |

Additional Information about Degree Requirements: | In addition to the 29 hours of didactic coursework, students are required to complete a 4 credit hour capstone course with an applied project reflecting application and integration of their knowledge and skills in health outcomes & pharmacoeconomics. Projects must be pre-approved by the Course Coordinator. The student will have project oversight and advising from a three-member capstone committee. This capstone prepares the student for independent application of health outcomes research skills. |
