Program Description

The Master of Science (MS) in Management of Drug Development (MDD) focuses on the translational phase of medical product development, bridging the gap between early-stage drug discovery and clinical application. The program is designed for students with a background in preclinical biological and pharmaceutical science. The degree is awarded upon completion of at least 32 units of formal course work. Course requirements include courses in translational science, and at least one course each in regulatory science, quality assurance, risk assessment, clinical research, statistics, CMC, and product lifecycle. Students should develop a specific plan of study with graduate advisers before beginning the program.

In order to graduate with a Master of Science degree in Management of Drug Development you must have completed:
At least 32 units of required and elective courses
Obtained a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better
Maintain continuous enrollment during all fall and spring semesters
Complete the degree within five years

Students who have earned a graduate certificate (12 units) from our program can apply the units towards the masters.
