Program Description

The University of Florida’s online Master’s in Pharmaceutical Sciences with a concentration in Clinical Toxicology is designed for healthcare professionals seeking to deepen their understanding of toxic substances, drug interactions, and emergency treatment strategies. Taught by internationally recognized faculty in toxicology, medicine, pharmacy and pharmacology, our 100% online program equips you with the advanced knowledge needed to lead in high-stakes clinical environments.

Whether you're working in a poison control center, emergency department or another healthcare setting, our 32-credit online Master’s degree offers the flexibility to balance your education with your career and personal life. You’ll explore topics such as:

- Toxicants and drugs of abuse
- Drug biotransformation and analysis
- Emergency treatment of poisoned or overdosed patients

This program is ideal for professionals such as:

- Poison control center staff
- Pharmacists
- Nurses
- Physicians and physician assistants
- EMTs and first responders

For healthcare professionals looking to specialize or upskill without committing to a full degree, we offer two fully online graduate certificates.

Clinical Toxicology (15 credits): Covers general toxicology, epidemiology, and biostatistics with a focus on toxic substances in clinical settings.
Occupational Toxicology (12 credits): Builds on clinical toxicology principles with a focus on workplace-related exposures and risks.

Credits earned in either certificate may be eligible for transfer to the Master’s program, provided a grade of “B” or higher is achieved and admission requirements are met.
