Program Description | Pharmaceutical and Chemical Sciences is a multidisciplinary graduate program. The Program is composed of three departments from the Thomas J. Long (TJL) School of Pharmacy and one department from the College of the Pacific. Departments participating in this program are Chemistry (College of the Pacific) and three departments from the TJL School of Pharmacy - Pharmaceutics and Medicinal Chemistry, Physiology and Pharmacology, and Pharmacy Practice. The research focus areas in the Program are: Bioanalytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry and Biochemistry Chemical Synthesis, Drug Discovery and Design Biopharmaceutical Sciences Molecular-Cellular Physiology and Pharmacology Health Care Outcomes and Clinical Services. The Program offers Master of Science (MS) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees in Pharmaceutical and Chemical Sciences. A dual degree program of Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) and PhD is offered in conjunction with the professional degree in the School of Pharmacy. |

Enter any additional information regarding application or admission requirements: | Applicants for graduate degree programs must meet the admission requirements as given in the Graduate School Catalog of the University. The Pharmaceutical and Chemical Sciences Graduate Program committee will sort applications according to the applicants' research interests or specialty based on the application files and/or statements. The sorted applications will be reviewed and evaluated by the prospective academic unit. Academic units will evaluate the applicants based on their academic performance, Graduate Examination scores, personal statement, experience and availability of faculty as advisor to determine the qualification and potential of the students. If the applicant is from a non-native English speaking country or the principal language of the instruction is not English, a score of Test of English as a Foreign Language and Test of Spoken English will be evaluated as set in the admission criteria. |
